Cool tiki and cocktail culture mag. Limited print run.

Issue 28 of Exotica Moderne celebrates our new hometown of Indianapolis with fantastical art by Ken Ruzic. Created for the newly-rechristened InferOhana annual event at The Inferno Room, we are thrilled to have Ken’s work grace another cover of EM!

This issue takes us on another whirlwind Tiki journey around Ray “Tiki With Ray” Wyland. He begins in Tucson, Arizona, while Kevin Quigley visits some familiar Tiki haunts in the vibrant city of Las Vegas.

Venturing even further, Vincent R. Vinci transports us to an unexpected destination: Beijing, China, where he introduces us to some truly exotic Tiki bars. Jayme Lynn Blaschke explores the intimate space at Uncharted, a bar designed and operated by artist Jason Straughan, a renowned Tiki artist known as The Boozy Doodler.

Anna Maria Sophia Cancell delves into the rich history of the Peacock chair, exploring its cultural symbolism and its significance within the Tiki scene. Anna was quite busy this issue, as she also penned a piece on the exotica act, VibeXotica, and their work with the Cape Fear Parrot Sanctuary.

Tiki Lindy goes bananas with a delightful selection of banana-based recipes, catering to both sweet and savory tastes of this versatile fruit.

Finally, Justin R. Cristaldi takes us on a culinary adventure to the Brooklyn-based home bar, Rita’s Lost Weekend, where he explores the bar’s unique offerings.

As always, you can expect music reviews and all original cocktail recipes in this issue of Exotica Moderne!
